I caught it was from the side covers -- the front side cover on the earlier sixes. In 63 there was the metal tube that ran around to the intake just under the carb in the head as I described. The 64-65 196 was obviously different. I'll have to look at a 64 TSM when I get home. If I forget drop me a line in e-mail.
