Frank; what I am talking about is the puke tube that protrudes down on small sixes, from the side of the engine block (the covers that give you access to the lifters). This block plate/cover is turned upwards and the air cleaner is shaped like a six. If you place the aircleaner properly on the carb the air horn comes out the left side (an upside down six) and there is a nipple sticking down to connect directly to the puke tube. Nothing fancy or convoluted, just like those flexible tin deals that always tear when you remove the air cleaner. But this set up is a little 1" deal. It may have been an early air pollution control as I remember a lot of sixes that had high miles would just be smoking out this tube (remember the old holy grail of 100,000 miles). A buddy back in the day with his smoking Ford ran a rubber hose connected to the old puke tube out the back via a 20 foot hose. This was coat hangered to the brake cable and he inturn connected it to a 2" pipe. Paired with his smoking car he had dual exhaust!! That is untill the Mt Angel police gave him a fix-it ticket and the judge said get it fixed. Anyways, is the tube connecting my air cleaner solid or flexible?......Russ ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs
