Re: NOS Armrest...help?

Well, I did some research and will throw in my 2 cents on it. The part number you mentioned, 3666279 is listed in my book as:
any 73 2 dr, or 74 thru 76 16-40-70 with T426 trim, which is matador coupe, javelin or gremlin. It can not be for javelin, because the armrest is totally different, so maybe that is the error the note refereed to. Also, the T-426Q is a Javelin trim code ONLY. Since you say it has the opening for the hidden door handle rather than the JR. series paddle or stick handle, then it must be for some 73 2dr matador or ambo, or the 74 16 matador coupe basic model. How much different is it from the hornet style, versus the SR. senior series that have the lever style door locking in the armrest? Other possibility, maybe the factory substiuted the armrests around on either of the models due to parts shortages or whatever, if it didnt look too much different, so maybe it could be used for the Grem/Hornet. Anyway, if you say it is the cinnamon, then that was used in 73-74, tan came out in 75 I beleive. Now, the trim code you mentioned, T-426Q. 4 is for a 74, the middle number is usually !
for the series- 0- grem/1/hornet/2 is for javelin- or later pacer, 3 matador, 4 ambo, etc. last number 6 is for the color-cinnamon or tan in other years. (1 black, 3 blue, 4 green, 5 red/berry, 6 tans, 8 white, etc.).and Q is the bucket seat in vinyl, p was the fabric. But the parts listing must be wrong, just says 426, did not indicate the Q, so it must be wrong, for javelin anyway, but could have been used with any of those other 73 or 74 drs with any cinnamon interiro. My 74 javelin has a trim code of T428Q and it has a black interiror with white vinyl bucket seats.
Maybe this gives you some more info to ponder, regards. AMC-Ken
