My engine was rebuilt, and tweaked mildly to put out about 400 hp, since car was put back together I have had a problem with the following, at idle with brake on the car feels like it wants to stall, and it has a very lumpy idle, seems to want to surge forward all the time, in park or neutral position the car is ok, my mechanic thinking it was the torque convertor sent it out twice to different people to have it rebuilt to a stall speed of 2400, but all involved are saying it cannot be done with this torque convertor, so now my mechanic wants to replace transmission, I just don't think that's the problem(torque convertor), the problem is only at idle, it runs fine otherwise. Is there anyone that you know that can help me with this ongoing problem? I have contacted a few AMC people they all say it doesn't sound like the torque convertor, as one guy said he's running the stock convertor in his, and it's well over 500 hp, and he's never had a problem, I don't want to go through the elimination process, only to find that it was not the torque convertor after all. Thanks for any help you can provide. John Grychak Sebastian, Florida 32958 jgrychak@xxxxxxx
