My last post I mentioned some ways to decode the trim codes,on the 73-74's we were talking about. You can find the trim codes listed in the parts book, group 29.152. FYI, the T=426Q- T= trim, 4 is year, middle digit is "usually" the series, 2 or 4 is javelin but it can vary by the model year, and 3rd digit, the 6 is the color, and the last digit/letter is the type of seat and material. Q= bucket seat vinyl trim. so this is for a 74 javelin with tan/cinnamon and vinyl buckets. Here are some other codes, but for sure there are differences and variations in the amc way of doing things. I think they treid to be consistent though. for middle digit, 73 models- ** for 74-77 models. 3 is Hornet **-1,3,4,6 0 Gremlin ** 4,G 4 Jav ** 2 5 Matador ** 3,6 8 Ambo ***** 8 Pacer 2 (75,76) ********************** Regards.
