A: Sounds like you may have had an ignition box go south on you. Or the gas line has frozen up (a spoonful of gas in the carb will let it start and run till the gas is gone) Gas line antifreeze is your friend in that kind of weather. To: mail@xxxxxxxxxxxx Message-ID: <ADVANCES62yfyz5b6KZ00001783@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> I am the owner of an 84 Eagle,191,000+ miles, 258, auto, it's my work car and has been very dependable thoughout the last 4 Chicago winters, well today I think she died, our temps have been -5 to +10 F. the last 4 days I left her sit outside for those days without starting until yesterday, she fired right up and I ran her for 30 min or so, got up this morning started her up and let it idle for 15 min.went to leave and all it does is pop through the carb. I have checked evrything I can think of, pulled the valve cover and checked the pushrods, rockers, and springs, even cranked her over and have plenty of oil, did a compression check and the readings are between 125 and 145, checked the cap and its clean plugs are a little black but not bad. I hate to retire her but.....any help?? Thanks.
