progress made on '74 brake job...still work to do

I got the old MC out, and the new one in place, but not tightened down or
hooked up yet. I also got the new wheel lug nut stud installed, and chased
the threads in the other 9 rear studs, as they were buggered on the outer
thread. Didn't want to have to install all new ones! I found out that Pep
Boys auto parts has the new studs ( part # 28107 ) BUT, there's two different
ones I've found in the same package! One is a cheaper version, with only
alternate splines, and no marks on the back indicating a Grade. The one out
of the 5 on the rack had fine splines like the original, and had 3 marks on
the back of it. I only got the one anyway. Bought 8 new lug nuts, as well. So
the rear wheels are back on, the emergency cable adjustment was too tight,
causing the rear brakes to drag, so I loosened up that adjustment, and the
rear wheels don't drag anymore. :) So, only have the MC left to finish
up, then bleed the system once again. I bought an upper radiator hose this
evening, as I'm going to replace all the hoses, they're bulging and soft. Not
good! I'll probably work on it on Wed., hopefully won't see any fireworks
near the car....might hear some though if the rusty bolts give me problems!
LOL. Well, time to call it a night, I'll hopefully be able to take it out for
a drive tomorrow...but they're calling for rain, so the job may get washed
out if I don't beat the weather. Hope for the best!
