Craig,
Heres how to get the dash lights out of your Gremlin..for the instrument 
panel: Remove center panel where the Heater control is and then remove the 4 
screws in the panel, remove the speedocable from the back of the speedometer 
and slide the panel forward, for the heater controls (Weather Eye) remove 4 
screws and slide forward..simple! Have fun!
