Yes you will need a V8 crossmember or conversion engine mounts from 
Bulltear .. http://www.bulltear.com/   ..trans crossmembers are the 
same..trans mount I get is one from a 72 up Javelin auto with a 
360/401...the furd 9 inch will bolt in but you will need to get a drive 
shift made to fit.....I have a 401/727 in my 74 Gremlin as well as in my 
69 AMX.......even in the AMX I did not have to change the trans 
crossmember....
