I have a 74 with a 68 mustang 9 inch. All we had to do was put bigger caps on the u joint where it meets the rear end and a little modification of the brake lines. The perches matched right up to the leaf springs and same bolt pattern for my rallies. The drive shaft also matched right up,did not have to cut or anything. The only difference here is that I am still running the 904 tranny, I believe the 727 might be longer. You also might want to look into getting the v8 springs to, good luck.

I just bought a '74 Gremlin and I want to add a 401 / 727 to it. What do I need besides a v8 cross member? Do I need the v8 trans cross member? If I go with a Ford 9" rear end what do I do for the drive shaft? Are any of these parts available after market?
