Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Concord AMX & Gremlin GT Flairs

Not sure, but they probably wouldn't fit 1973-'77 Hornet with their pointed front fenders and full width bumpers. Also, 1980 Eagle front fender flares, bright metal trim around them, and bumper end caps are distinctly different from the '81-'88 Eagles.

Hi Doc agreed. The reason I posted it the way I did was to see if some can come forward and positively ID which fender wells those 78 moldings would indeed fit. Would there be a market for them if they did indeed interchange with say 70-77 Hornet, 78-83 Concord, 79-83 Spirit and 80-88 Eagle perhaps, maybe tiny bit bigger market, especially with pre-80 owners.

And I understand about interest gauging. I tried to do 25 units of each 5 years ago water jet them, but triangular Rebel Machine ram air baffle under hood and oval same for 71 SC/360 Hornets after watching a use 71 SC/360 ram air setup sell for $810 on ebay, figured there is market, so ran ads in all the national AMC rags, and mixed make magazines, and AMC online sites asking for $125 deposit (which is how much I was selling them for, shipping to be determined later) and got about 3 emails, and 2 calls in 1 year so aborted mission, figured could spend the $3000 on something better like strip club or with bookie.

And the internet is littered with good ideas that don't happen including (past 10 years ) AMC Unity Club, AMC Council of Clubs, AMC Magazine (gee the guy spent $10K of his own money on this failed project) a case could be made for Charity AMX (supposed to be done in 2002) even scab forum and Mitchell's big failed club, so lots of doom there, you see someone have 'idea' and everyone thinks it is next best thing to country gravy invented and want to pile on and say 'count me in!' but when time to put up or shut up or put up deposit, yikes, as you mention, no one left in room.

The dash pads for Gremlin/Hornet one would think would sell, due to production of those models and how many dash pads interchange in many years of those Series. Again, getting deposits or having people put up money to help offset costs and start up is like pulling hen's teeth. Lots of twitter talk but no $$$ unfortunately!

So not sure where Marc's project might go with the flairs, after a year, (like me) he will abort mission and give up due to no interest (emails are not deposits) or who knows, might have enough deposits to put first stage into production which would be neat. On other hand hard for some to come up with $650 for bling when 16.5 million people out of work also, so variety of factors.

I saw Mark's post on the AMX Files. Due to the low production No#'s of both of these cars and what few survivors there are probably left I seriously doubt you would get enough interest to make it worth while dollar wise even for a limited run. Years ago there was talk of a repo dash crash pad that woud fit Hornets and Gremlins. I signed up for one and that went nowhere. And there are a lot more Hornets and Gremlins that could use them.
