I never subscribed to either although liked both. I can't recall a AMC on
anything on the cover in recent memory. Ironically in conversation several
months ago with one of the editors of Hemmings Muscle Machines, a SS/AMX was
almost put on cover, but bumped in favor (favour if Canadian) by a Panther Pink
Challenger. As or Hot Rod, the jury still out on their April Fool's day spoof on
AMC. Judging by the uproar on the AMC Forum www.amccars.net (the real forum, not scab
forum) a lot of people got panties in wad over it, and have right to, as AMCers
seems even when AMC was in business going back in 60s had to defend them so here
was just another case of having to fight the good fight I guess. On the other
hand....in my humble opinion, it did some good as people who would not have
given a rat's ass about anything AMC then might have decided to buy a AMC and
customize or fix it up after seeing those illustrations, and if that happened,
and I don't know if did or didn't, but if did, then another AMC or two saved.
Still, hate to see AMC take black eye like that, you know they would not have
had balls to do it with fallen marques Pontiac or Olds....
