Finally got the engine pulled and stripped from my 77 Hornet AMX that I'd just do a .30 over bore anything more than that and you'll run into
cooling prob's Some 10 to one pistons would be a good idea that
way you can run pump gas still. Edelbrock and Indy make alum. heads for an AMC
but if you can't afford them just try and find some 70-73 AMC 360,390 and 401
heads which initially are the same save for the 70 and early 71's being a high
comp head '51 cc's and i think in 74 AMC's 360/401 heads were garbage.The Comp
cams Hyd. 292/518 sounds great and its perfect for the 360. Don't go
anything bigger than a 750 cfm carb as anything larger and you'll be bogging
it.Also the Edelbrock Torker intake is good for street/strip as it wakes up at
around 2500-3k rpm also the new Edelbrock 'Air Gap' i hear is good. Hope I
helped in some way
