[BaadAssGremlins] Re: mirrors (long)

The Hornets passenger side mirrors were all non remote however a Group 15
Accessory. So you had to buy it. Only the Barcelona and Cassini coupes had a
passenger side remote mirror you could control ir from the lower right of
steering column, had a huge, long cable. Later Spirits and Eagles would get
this, but a option/accessory.

I will only post this once as it is pain in the ass, so someone save it
here. The reason why is one day maybe you want passenger side mirror or bid
on one on fee-bay, and it might say "amx" or "matador" the heads are same
but different necks from series to series. So someone save this shit below:

mirrors series part number suggested list wholesale dealer net
primer 74 01-40 8993060 11.00 8.25 6.60
chrome flathead 70-71 01-40 8992744 6.71 5.02 4.02
chrome oval head 70-73 01-40* 8992583 5.45 4.10 3.26
prime 74 10-70-80 8993052 10.00 7.50 6.00
chrome 70-72 10-80 * 70-30 70-74 70 8992584 5.45 4.10 3.26
primer 70-73 10-70-80 70-30 8992619 5.45 4.10 3.26
companion for left manual 63 10-80 64-69 10-80 8992313 5.55 4.18 3.44
companion for remote 68-69 8992314 8.19 6.18 2.50
*=on 72-73 models, use only when vehicle is equipped with left remote
control mirror.

Note the above mentioned "manual" is non remote, this is how AMC called
them.
The above is for all "mirror Outside, manual, right 15.270.

I have the "remote left" also if anyone wants it.

Or....you can buy one of these great Group 15 books, I have 1970, which
lists mote 65-70 Accessories, and also 74, whihc lists most 65-74
accessories:
 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330007620424
is the 1970 release
 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330007613779
is the 1974 release.

If you want one, you don't have to go thru fee-bay, they make enough money,
just send me $11.50 for one or $20.50 for the pair. The best thing about
these as mentioned in the auctions, is sometimes you come across something
and not sure what it is.

note description, but not for AMX or Javelin, only for Rebel and Ambassador
with short cable.

this star pattern was also used on aMX and Javelin.

the seller is Brian Moyer, who owns some Gremlin prototypes like Voyager.
This part number quickly comes back as 72-74 01-40 Series.

Anyhows, good luck, and it is always good to "add" what I call "invisible
options" to your classic AMC, stuff like tilt column, mirrors, am/fm, the
list is endless, and it is how AMC nickled and dimed buyers to death. Works
for me.
