Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Rear Tail Shaft Seal/ CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!

Charles, while I didn't follow this whole thread, I believe Doc is simply
stating his prespective form his life experiences, shit he has leanred and
so forth. Sort of like some here with their racing or me with parts I guess.
If anything Doc is encouraging younger gens to get involved with most of his
posts about fixing things 'his way'. I would not take offense at that,e
veryone has their own way to fix shit, after all....we are all aMCers and
learn to fix stuff as most of it ain't being made anymore.

The 'younger generation' is the future of the hobby like you. Without you
young folks, the hobby (and I mean nationals, regionals, publications,
involvement) slowly craters as time goes on and then what? We become a
invisible marque like Studebaker? When was the last time anyone saw a Stu in
a magazine article? A cruise night? National publised meet? On the street?
Hell, my pee pee got hard yesterday seeing a Avanti in small diecast
miniature at Toys R Us for instance, never have seen one and it was like
Michael Jackson stepping into a Chuck E. Cheese.

The customer satisfaction thing however is different. I have had grumpy old
bastards pissed off at life and wife, kids, job wait on me before, just
people tired of living and dealing with others on a daily basis. Since I am
in the service industry (read BAR business) here in Houston, I deal with
them DAILY. Could be a distributor, vendor, fellow employee, landlord,
customer, you name it.

On the other hand, I was as a Whataburger (hope you have those in your area,
the original one was five blocks from my house in Corpus Christi in the 50s,
now they are everywhere) but a young kid, and I use that term loosely, he
must have been late teens, waited on me, and was really polite. Had a great
attitude, smiled, and I was surprised and somehow taken aback, as usually if
same person in maybe another places waits on you, different attitude, scowl,
treats you like a number, not human. So it was a nice surprise to see this
young man, who was busy, take the time to smile, and not snarl like
anyone-anyage at Home Depot, Wal Mart, Burger King, Taco Cabana or any other
public place one might hit in the course of a day.

In other words, it varies case by case, person by person, don't think it is
a age problem as when someone is on the rag, the are on the rag. (Bar term).
