I don't think that was so sad Charlie. At least you had since enough  to keep it. The one I had came within a day of being given to the Salvation Army. My mother called me up and said she was going to give it to them. If it hadn't been for my kids it probably would have gone. The reason she decided that was about 6 months before that she had a friend of hers paint the car she was driving. She ask him to paint the Gremlin. He told her without even looking at it not to waste her money. He told her that AMC's just weren't wanted and Gremlin's were at the bottom of the food chain. It would never be a collectors item. This has been awhile back but I remember him being a real smart ass about it. Wish I could see him now. I would shove my trophy in his face and see what he thought about that. LOL

It sat about 20 years or so, though I did start it now and then just to get the worms out. Pretty sad, huh?
