Hey Doc,I understand what you mean about AMC parts. I lost count of the number of NOS/OEM parts I got by watching eBay closely over the last two years. Thankfully, I am the original owner of my Gremmie w/40k miles on it and did not need much. However, lots of things faded, cracked from the sun, etc. I noticed that the Chevy, Ford and Mopar folks can get just about anything any time if they have the money. As for making parts, that's way beyond my skill base. Wonderful that you can do that!CharlieIn a message dated 6/11/2006 2:09:36 PM Eastern Daylight Time, AMC74HORNET@xxxxxxxxx writes:Charlie it feels good to drive somthing other than the usual cookie
cutter cars that if your wallet is fat enough you can order any repo
part you may need. Part of the thrill of driving an AMC is the hunt for
the parts you need. I spent 2 1/2 years hunting the parts I needed to
re-do my interior. I have parts in the interior from all over the lower
48 state and a few exterior parts from both ends of Canada. The owner of
the shop where I work on my car and does work I am no longer able is
building a modified 69 Firebird with a built 400 small block Chevy
engine. He is not interested in the hunt for parts, he just want's to
open a catalog and give his credit card no# and expect's the parts in
3-5 days. There a a few small repo parts in my interior other than the
carpet but the majority is used parts refurbished or made newparts by me
and new upholstery on the seats.
