Paul - sorry, I didn't realize you wanted a
description. The Driver's Class is new. Apparently, it is geared for
folks who drive their car at least 750 miles per year. You can trailer the
car to the show as long as you drive it the 750 miles throughout the year.
The way it will work is: You bring the car to the show this year and
register it in the driver's class. They will give you a window tag with
the mileage on the car on it. It will be your responsibility to keep this
tag until next year. They will again check the mileage and if it is 750
miles or more, you will qualify for that class. I guess it is designed so
that folks don't always have to compete with trailer queens. The American
Cup will now be for non stock Best of Class and the American Heritage Cup will
be for Stock Best of Class winners. All cars start out in Junior Class,
then advance to Senior Class by earning points. I think you can find out
the point system and breakdown of Bronze, Silver and Gold through AMO.
Hope this helps.
David

Casey. I did get the app. and other papers you sent. I
found the list of classes for the show but couldn't find a description of the
classes,. Did you send one. People are asking what the driver class,
is can you trailer there and then pull it out to do driver class?

Paul - I don't need any scuff plates,
thanks. Here's a couple of pictures of my Gremlin. I just got
the chrome back on it, and still need to do striping, and some
detailing. I bought it at Carlisle, PA a few years ago. It only
has 29,000 miles onit, but typical of AMC, had lots of rust. Had a
great guy who does welding and works on AMCs fix her up, and she looks good
now. Let me know about the bumper. I might relist next week if
your not interested. Thanks

Casey I have found a few NOS scuff plates for
Gremmies. Still in AMC packages with AMC stickers on them. Guy wants
350.00 a set plus 25.00 for shipping and 5.00 for ins These are rarer than
hens teeth. Do you want any? Also has NOS rear bumper for 70 to 73
Gremlin. Paul

Paul - I am stuck at $300. It would
cost at least that to get one nicely re-chromed, but you know
that. I live in Central Ohio - near Columbus. A pretty easy
drive from Michigan. Yes, we do have over 20 AMC's - and one Chevy
(a pickup truck). On page two of the registration, are the
show classes. If you bring the Gremlin, you would be in the AMC or
AMN class depending on if you are stock or non stock. If you are
pretty much stock, and have one or two small items that are non stock,
you may want to run it in stock and suffer the point deduction for the
non stock item. If you are daically non stock, then that's the way
to go. The registration form has been revised, so you might want
to print off the new one I attached and use it. Talk
soon,
Casey

DAMMITALL!!!!!!! The damn thing didn't sell
again! Ok Casey I'm thinkin I'm going to buy that front
bumper. Are you absolutely stuck at $300? If I do buy I'll drive
down and get it. By the way my oldest friend , who just passed
away was called Casey. Strange coincidence. Thanks for the app.
for the nationals , I will be coming. Like I said don't have the best
car but should have enough done to it by then to make it presentable.
Also , can you fill me in on driver clas show
vehicles? Thanks talk to you soon Paul in Det.

Paul - thanks for bringing all that to

and have over 20 AMCs of various years and models from 1958 Custom

the AMO Nationals this year? Our chapter - Ohio American
Motors Classics - is hosting the meet. It's going to be a good
one! I attached a flyer for you, and registration along with
some pics of our cars (my wife is also crazy about AMCs!) By
the way, my friends call me Casey.
Thanks again. Casey

LOL David. I just bought a very good
condition front bumper. MIGHT pop for a nice new one though.
I'll have to think about it. Anyhow I'm glad we figured out
what you have. By the way if you're an AMC guy, check out BaadAssGremlins@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.
I also can't believe I didn't recognize that as a front bumper,..
See ya Paul David R McGowan

the rear! I looked in the parts book, and it is definitely
in the book as a front bumper. I revised the listing to

you?

Hello again David. Yhe pics of your bumper
do not look exactly like a gremmie bumper. The 4 small holes
in the center face of the bumper should not be there as the
Gremlin license plate mounts to the car above the bumper where
the 2 license lights are. Might be the hornet bumper as that
would be just my luck. can you email me the part# on the tag
so I can compare to my parts lists? Maybe we can figure out
exactly what it's for and that way you won't piss anyone off.
I sure wish I would fit mine or maybe it is addaptable.
Thanks Paul in Detroit David R McGowan

Paul - I am mistaken
about the rubber strip. When I looked at it, I saw the
holes and thought it was for a rubber strip. I think
the holes are for the bolts and license plate. I took
some pics to show you. Hope this helps. In the
parts book, the part number has a different prefix than what
is on the tag on the bumper, so that is what is
confusing. But when I look at the bumper picture in
the parts book, it looks exactly like the one I have.
I think it fits a Hornet also. I am going to revise
the listing to reflect this. It is a very
nice NOS bumper.
