ya i was thinking of just buying 2 new gauges and place them between the dash and package tray on either side of the steering column

If your is the pod you will not find after market gauges the size of the
AMC ones. I tried.  I made a new face plate and used 3 Auto Meter
gauges. A volt meter, a temp gauge and a an oil pressure gauge and a
battery cut off toggle switch.
