 They do go into the cooling passage. You have to use RTV when installing them. I like the idea of a block of wood as a backer and the head as the template to drill the holes in the ROL gasket. Are you going over 11to 1 compression? Unless that is the case you really have no need for all the extra work and expense of the extra bolts.
