Oh, I ain't asking for equal time. Only that when time IS given to our cars, it not be spent bashing them. You never hear those snide comments about Camaros...and you can knock them easily and never tell a lie. Imagine a commentator saying this on Hot Rod TV... "Now, sure, this Z/28 is fast and sharp looking. But be prepared to be one of several dozen at every show you go to. You won't score any points for uniqueness." NEVER happen. Mind you, the exact same words can be a compliment or an insult, depending of which you put first. Example- "While the 390-V8 and M12 4-sped were a potent setup, no matter how you slice it, in sales, it was too little, too late." Sounds beter this way... "While it may have been too little to late in sales, No matter how you slice it, the 390-V8 and M12 4-speed were a potent setup." Prowess overcomes the sales rather than sales defeat the prowess. But the mags and TV show choose to use the negative take when talking about AMCs and do the opposite to bolster the egos of the Big-Three fans (their bread- and-buter)...and so the myths continue to get spread all these years later. Look at all the mags that STILL claim HP died in '72 when it's the rating system that changed. They blather on about 400HP '68s and '69s and bash a '72 300HP car when the drivetrains were nearly unchganged.
