No the show is at a park. It is strictly a show event. I don't think most of
these guys would want to run these cars.

(hey look Doc, another webtv fella!)

On above date when reservations opening, something I want to comment about I
always thought was funny, and also neat, is with the AMO AMC National meet,
people are calling in their reservations to the next year meet from the meet
they are at. For instance in 1999 when Paige and me were in St. Louis, there
were folks calling making reservations for Berlin, CT. And when we were at
Berlin in 2000, there were people there who excitedly told us they were
coming to Houston for 2001, many had never been to Houston, so back when we
(Houston club) made a presentation before the Board of Directors of AMO to
do the 2001 meet, many of us had been 'goodwill ambassadors'  (no pun
intended on the ambo part) to get Houston on people's radar. But I always
found it funny and neat, that many people simply plan their summer vacations
around this meet, which moves about the country, giving people chances to
see cars they have never seen before, and go to a place they might not have
ever been before either. Besides the above mentioned places, after Houston
was Phoenix and this last summer, Atlanta, I just got my AMO magazine abuot
that meet yesterday.

It's a good thing to plan around, as with these meets, you get to buy parts
at 'non fee-bay' prices, (take lots of money, make a list before going) and
of course, see cars you may see one time, and never see again, (take lots of
photos, batteries)  but the big kicker is that the people you meet.
Something I have written about before. The PEOPLE make the meet. So for all
of you considering going, make plans now. The reason why is the "host hotel"
usually sells out no matter how large or small. We had over 260 rooms booked
at the monster 10 story Radisson here in Houston on I-45/S. So make
reservations early...........and also this helps the crew putting on the
show..........PRE REGISTER your vehicle if you are more than sure you will
be going! This helps with paperwork, trophies, and classes!!!! The smoother
a meet goes the better for all.

If Mike has any additional comments since I coped this to him I will forward
it to here.

For Mike Turner: Send me 500 of the flyers for the meet, i already blew thru
those 100 you sent in 9 days. And don't make them blue, just regular old
black copies is fine. Send FedEx Ground, cheapest way to go. Thanks.
