Ralph,  While a nice thought, and I've heard of folks drawing up 
agreements like that, I figure they are completely un-enforceable. 
Either you are selling it, or you aren't.

The only 'enforceable' version would be to remain a 'co-owner'
on the title...and can't imagine anybody agreeing to that. And
Doing so means you are liable if the buyer kills somebody with 
it.

Alas, I don't think there's any reasonable method to do it.

The guy ought to be drawn and quartered! I would have to need the 
money for a life saving operation for my kids before I tore that 
apart! And then I would have to think long and hard about it. That is 
a crying shame... There should be a legal agreement that a buyer 
should have to sign before they get a car like that.
