Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Gremlin lacing/seals wanted

Not to seem to be harsh on you but I see a lot of I been told here, by
who?. Professional's ? a hobbyist who know's what he is doing? I think
you spent too much money for a NOS part when you could possibility got
an as good or better repo part for half the price. A NOS gasket will
leak like a cheap REPO if INSTALLED by an idiot. The gasket you bought
is still 20 years old and I don't care how good it smells or feels.
Bart's going to kill me for this but my wife of almost 37 years still
feel's and smells the same but is way different now after 37 years. I
see what glass needs to be installed properly on cars at my friends shop
but since I don't need any on my 2 Hornet's I couldn't tell you what
sealer to use, and I wouldn't do it myself either. Old cars and new cars
need different things. Ask a PROFESSIONAL who has old car experience not
an "I've been told". Good luck.

--- Begin Message --- About the window gasket for the Gremlin. I was told
that the reproduction seals leak and the one I
purchased, even though new old stock, was made in 1995
before they began retiring the parts for the Gremlin
(I'm told). The gasket I received smells new and is
nice and squeaky like new rubber should be. Doesn't
seem to be deteriorated at all. As far as glue...were
they glued in?

Try Blaser's Auto. I got a brand new old stock rear
window gasket from them. It cost a little bit
more...but it is original and a perfect fit (no leaks
like the reproduction gaskets). it is best to call
them with questions because their website is not very
informative. This guy used to be an AMC dealer and has
a lot of original parts.
