[BaadAssGremlins] Re: looking for Gremlin

Probably one of the rarest Gremlins around for sale that I know of belongs to a buddy in Canada. He wants $3000/Canadian for it, eh, but it is a first year 1970 Gremlin in factory Big Bad Green. According to CD Bulletin #4 from aMC, after Janauary 2nd, 1970 you could get any production Hornet in the Big Bad colors; of course since the Gremlin was months away from seeing introduction, this applied to it also. Same with any AMC except Ambassador and I have never under stood why.

There was a 1970 Hornet two door Big Bad Blue in the pick a part here I yanked off a lot of stuff from, this is the fenders and hood:

of which all are for sale, see 'amc parts special' on the front page of my website in yet another unsolicited shameless plug.

On the 1970 Gremlin in BBG, you will have to go back several months in the Shut Up & Drive Lists on my website however to find the car. Again, there is a better than average chance it is still for sale. And they don't get any rarer than that, 70 Gremlins are seldom seen at any Regionals or National meets too; double that if it is a ultra rare two seat 1970-71 Gremlin.

Bryan up in Sasketchewan usually has a good array of AMCs for sale, this is his main AMC email search:

and his email is teamamc@xxxxxxxxxxx if you wish to contact him to see what might be available up in Santa's home of North Pole. I copied this to Bryan and wish to tell him that today in Houston it was 87 degrees, sunny, and light wind, simpyl Chamber of Commerce weather he sees up there, uh, maybe two days per year. On the other hand, mold spores were in the heavy category, no ragweed, oak, pollen or grass spores (what you don't have that crap in YOUR weather report?) and Ozone was in the red stage, especially on east side, so old folks and kids stay inside mornings and evenings or risk picking fan belt like boogers out of nose the rest of day. No ozone on west side, just damned Louisiana swamp mosquitos still.

I had a 77 and the 78 I got now were both built in Canada. I agree with Bart again. I know you can find them in Canada. I would think it would be a lot of trouble transferring an old car from the states to Canada. I know I would do my homework there before I laid out any money for one here. I am from Kentucky and they are hard to fine around here. I have been saying for years that I would like to have the second one. I have seen a number of them a couple of hundred miles from me. I just keep thinking I am going to have one show up in my backyard one day. Anyway if I got the second one I wouldn't have anything to complain about. I didn't know anything went wrong with a Gremlin Bart. They sure didn't rust on the top of the fenders, the bottom of the doors are around the rear wheels. You guys might disagree with me but the one piece of advice I give to anyone who is going to buy an old unibody car of any make not just an AMC is to crawl underneath of it. You can fix the mechanics, and the body but if the underneath is rotten out you got big problems. I have heard of more than one breaking apart.
