My 65 American 440 Hdtp with the 195.6 six cyl. one bbl carb and twin
stick was quick and also gave fantastic gas mileage. I don't remember
how big the tank was but when I was in the Navy in Norfolk Va. in the
late 60's I used to drive the 400 miles to New York on 3/4's of a tank
of gas at 70-80 miles an hour. I used to take 3 people with me and
charge them 5$ a piece for gas and make money on the deal. I sure miss
that car.

I never have any problems getting on the expressway with my 232 automatic. I can name a few cars I have owned that I couldn't say that. No, I am not going to smoke any tires or out run any cop cars but I think it would run 70 all day long and I have never had anyone blow their horn at me because I took off too slow at a red-light.
