Eddie have you checked about bumper chrome  places lately? 99.9 % died
years ago with the invention of the plastic bumper cover. Look in
Hemmings, last time I looked you maybe had 4-5 scattered across the
country, most local chrome places are small and do mostly motorcycle
parts and can not handle a large item such as a bumper, never mind
straighten one. An alternative is to take it to a place who know's how
to sand blast properly without destroying the part to remove the nickel
and chrome. I have been thinking about that for my orange car, sand
blast them and paint them body color for a mono-chromatic effect. Bumper
shops were a dime a dozen 30 years ago in in the N.Y. Metro Area, now
there is not a one.

On these bumpers, you can take any chromed bumper, any year, to a bumper
place and ask them to denickle and dechrome it. Same price, and then it is
ready to paint same color as car like I did with the Red Death to name one.
I like color coded bumpers it gives it a modern look!
