Hello all, I am looking for a manual tranny for my 401 in my '79 Spirit
GT. When it comes to transmissions and vehicle rear ends, I'm a total
novice. I've got a 727 auto in mine now. Should I look for anything
else to go with it? Such as a vehicle rear end different than mine?

1982 AMC Spirit 4 speed transmission for sale it has 100 K miles, but
works good, it was taken care of. It is still in the car and you can
hear it and drive it. The car is a hatch back and I am parting it out,
it also has a 258 6 cylinder engine in it and the rearend differential,
driveshaft. etc.

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks,
Ralph
Ralph trust me theres no such thing as long posts here.you can get some good money or traded even for a Borg Warner T10 trans as your AMC type 727 is a sought after tranny that and the AMC type GM T400 any factory 4 speed that came in a Spirit isn't good for hot rod applications but the BW T10 were behind 343's 360's 390's & 401's
