[BaadAssGremlins] Novice question on tranny

Hello all, I am looking for a manual tranny for my 401 in my '79 Spirit 
GT. When it comes to transmissions and vehicle rear ends, I'm a total 
novice. I've got a 727 auto in mine now. Should I look for anything 
else to go with it? Such as a vehicle rear end different than mine?

 1982 AMC Spirit 4 speed transmission for sale it has 100 K miles, but 
works good, it was taken care of. It is still in the car and you can 
hear it and drive it. The car is a hatch back and I am parting it out, 
it also has a 258 6 cylinder engine in it and the rearend differential, 
driveshaft. etc.
