I drove my yellow Hornet for 30 years with them !@#$%^& drum brakes. What a difference. I have the 79 Concord set up out of a non power disc car. It is used with a stock 74 drum brake master and power booster. It works fine. My orange car has the stock power factory disc set up. "Doc" ------------------------ Yahoo! I'm getting ready to do the swap myself. Hey Doc.. brake fade?? I just don't know which way to turn the steering wheel when hitting the brakes
AMC74HORNET@xxxxxxxxx wrote:Hey Tony glad to see you made it here and also found an AMC. Great bunch
of people here and wealth of knowledge also. The disc conversion is not
hard. I had my yellow car done last june. Lu is in the process of doing
her Gremlin right now. I spent an hour driving through the hills where I
live yesterday and could remember with the drum brakes the brake fade
was so bad it would barely stop after a trip like that.

hey doc,
sounds like you've been busy.
I have a ton of work that needs to be done to my car before i can
drive it. I realy outta just restore the entire thing right now but I
dont have the time and res ources so i'll just have to settle for
preserving whats still intact on it for the next couple of years. Im
gonna be doing a disc brake conversion from my '78 gt parts car, also
the basic tune up and replacing of hoses ect, I think I also have a
colapsed shock or weak spring on the front drivers side.
So thats where I'm at,
Tony
