Well yesterday I worked on the black car for about 5 hours. I got her running again, starts right up now and runs good. I even did a little holeshot in the driveway! Couldn't resist. I finished taking the doors off. 3 bolts broke off on the drivers side F%$@^%@#%$#!!!! That's gonna be a pain in the assessets. Then I took the rest of the interior out, and cut out the roll cage. The only thing left is the dash, windshield, and the drivers seat. I started sanding the pas side fender on a saw horse. Decided to sand to bare metal on the fenders. I have one fender 1/3 sanded now. I also did alittle sanding on the rear of the car. Boy I can tell ya I have A LOT of sanding to do. Why did I cut out the roll cage you ask? I welded it in the wrong spot originally. Too far forward. So i will install it into the rwb car and I have a brand new cage for the black car. Even though the new NHRA rule is that a cage is not required till 11.5 I will not race without one after seeing what happened to the Amc Team BBO Gremlin. I don't see there being much difference crashing at 107 MPH or 130 MPH. As you can see from the pics in Bill's file without the cage the car would have been a pancake. So anyway that is my progress so far. DAvis ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Give the gift of life to a sick child.
