Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: Grill Repair

Bill,
I put a solid 8 hrs into the repair of that grille. It had cracks and splits all over. I used plastic weld system from Advance Auto the local parts store. I ground the cracks into a v shape and sanded arround with 180 grit. I also put a plastic strip behind each repair. I sanded the repair smooth after it dried. After all the repairs were made I went over the whole grille sanding it with 220 grit. Then I filled in any spots with spot putty and sanded again. Then I primmerd the whole thing. I sanded again with 320 and fixed any imperfections and primmered it again. Then another sanding with 400 grit. Then final paint 3 coats of rattle can black.
 Thanks,
 Davis

Hey Davis,
I'm interested in know how you went about repairing
your grill. Did you have cracks or breaks in the
plastic? What did you do to fill them? I've got a 72
that needs some minor work and looking for the best
way to fix it.
