It looks like a nice clean car and may be worth the 3,600$ but as you saw it didn't even reach the reserve and the buy it now price was 2,000$. That tells me he will negotiate for at least 2,000$. Have a mechanic check it over before making an offer as a clean car can have a host of unseen expensive mechanical problems. I am speaking from personal experience with the clean 74 Hornet Hatchback I bought 15 months ago for 500$ and have spent 4,500$ on it in repairs and I am a mechanic. Does anyone know the value of a 1979 AMC Spirit? Here's a link to the
car I would like to buy:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4520856703&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
I'm dealing with the guy locally since it didn't sell on eBay and I
expect that I'll pay around $1300 - $1500. He claims its worth $3600.
What do you think? I really need to know because it might someone else
might buy it this weekend! I'm sixteen and really dig these cars, but
I want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off.
Thanks a lot,
Austin Perry
