Re: [BaadAssGremlins] Re: Hornet AMX numbers

Were the 4 colors strictly 77 Hornet AMX colors or were they available
on other Hornet's?. I have seen a red one a white one and a green one
but never a yellow one. The green one was truly an ugly color on that
car. I also didn't care for the Targa Bar on the roof. A Javelin AMX
style spoiler would have been a better idea. I know because I modified
one to fit my yellow Hornet. Your right Eddie about there being no
market for them as Joe Wilcox from the Ct. AMO has been trying to sell a
real nice clean white one for over 2 years now, but I think the price
may be why it hasn't sold. I think he wants 6,500$. I think it is a 6
Cyl. 4 speed.

--- Begin Message --- There is nothing on the body door tag to ID the vehicle as a Hornet AMX
either. So yes, a car could easily be turned into a Hornet AMX if one wanted
as Doc mentioned. I don't see it happening however as there is no market for
them. While a 360V8 was a option, it was NOT, repeat, NOT a option for
Hornet AMX. Neither was a four speed, nor three speed with V8. Only the
trusty, 232-6, 258-6 and 304V8 were available for the Hornet AMX, and the
304 only came with AT/column and AT/floor darn it. Sure would have liked to
see a 360V8/4spd package available!

Since Doc mentioned colors, there were only a few colors that the Hornet AMX
came in also. I may add that I think it is stupid, but the flairs were
molded in different colors and each had a *different* AMC Part Number!

Colors available were G7/Alpine White (like my own 77 AMX w/401 shown here)

also available was 6P/Firecracker Red; 6V/Sunshine Yellow, 7P/Lime Green (a
horrible one year only color). 4 colors. I would have loved to see one of
these in Powder Blue (7D paint code; or 7C Autumn Red! A case could be made
for 6J Silver Frost Metallic too, as for well, P1 Classic Black.
