Stupidity Strikes & I Make An A$$ Of Myself

It must be old age or just plain stupidity. After sitting on the same spot in my garage on the parts shelf for almost 3 years, a few weeks ago I took the extra fuel tank sender off the shelf and looked to see if it had the filter for the pickup and it didn't so I thought I just put it box and all in the back of the orange car. I got a new filter, locking ring and gasket and took the car to the shop to have it installed. Now I can't find the sender. I went home and looked in the garage and the spot on the shelf where it sat was empty, I checked my Chevy and yellow Hornet and up in my house. NO !@#!@# Sender!! I can't find that thing anywhere.
