Congrats on the find for a nice price. What is a mint one going for if you can find one? I would imagine big bucks? "Doc" Hi Doc, Bart & other earthlings, here is from the Hot Wheel sCollectors Guide by Bob Parker, isbn 0-88740-488-X (really nice book, super illustrated) The GREMLIN OPEN FIRE came in all the metallic colors of: orange green olive blue red brown gold lavender lime purple aqua light blue magenta The ones like the one I bought command $40-$50. In mint boxed (in auctions on in ads you will see MIB, that is mint in box or mint in blisterpack) but mint ones can command $300-$400. Not bad for a toy that costs $99 cents in 1972. But how many are left that have not been scrapped up by collectors? I don't even flinch dropping $200 for a original Hot Wheels 1969 Custom AMX. I have bought them for less on ebay, and also at swap meets where I know many toy and collectible vendors who I leave a Planet Houston aMX card with, informing them to give me first shot at **ANY** AMC toy that comes thru their stable, as if I am not interested, I know others who are. If any of you come across any Hot Wheels and don't know value of them, please simply email me and I'll quote some of the price guides here for you. This is interesting, as for the last month, I got a barrage of emails and calls from people who were going to either the Kenosha 50th meet or the Rambler AMCRC Nationals in MA this past weekend, and they were going to take parts up, but they didn't know what some of the stuff may be worth so I coached them thru it with going rates. Some decided it was best put it on ebay and avoid the hassle of dragging up items, others decided it would be more fun to lug the things to those respective meets and sit around and see if they could sell! But that was a first for me, there had to be at least 30 calls/emails from people who had stuff for sale, kind of caught me off guard! Eddie Stakes
