It's been a busy week chaseing front end & brake parts for the orange car. The front end and front brakes have had every last part replaced. I had minor problems getting some parts but I have everything for the front of the car and it is now being finished up for later today or by first thing tomorrow morning. I can only imagine what the bill will be for the labor, OUCH!!! I am just waiting for a rear brake hose and I will have all the parts for the rear brakes. The other rear brake drum that I was waiting for has arrived. I only pay for and pick up parts when all the parts for one specific job are all there so as not to tie up my friends shop and drain my car repair fund of cash for parts that are just sitting there. I'l drive the orange car over the weekend since the A/C works in it and probably bring it back next tuesday if I get the rear brake hose and have the rear brakes done then. If not I will have all the parts by the end of this week for the 79 Concord disc brake conversion for the yellow car and have that done instead. I already have an aftermarket brake proporting valve plumbed into the system since the 79 Concord did not have a combo/proportioning valve in it when I stripped it. And I don't mean it was missing, I mean it was not used when the car was built. My friends 78 Concord didn't have one either. Since the yellow car has the rear in it out of the same Concord with the addition of the front disc's it will now after 30 years have a modern brakeing system with all the components matched, but will be power brake as the Concord doner car was manual brake. Brake fade was always a problem with this car as I am shall you say a hard driver. I am just so pleased with the way things are going on both cars. It's costing me a pretty penny but it's worth it. Have a good day all. "Doc"
