Bart
That's cool, a lot of folks don't realize that it is
possible to get into fling so cheaply. My total
investment in my Kitfox is just a hair over $20,000.
That a lot lest than most people pay for a new car. I
also spread this cost out over the 6 years that it
took to built it. It?s a two place high wing with a
top speed of 110 kts. and burns 3.5 gals/hr. Pretty
cheap to run! Also, the wings fold back, and I have a
trailer for it, so I can keep it at home, and not have
to pay hanger fees, which run about $150 to $200 a
month in this area.
As far as my Gremlin goes, I brought a new 72 ?X? V-8,
3 speed after high school. I traded in a 66 GTO on
it. I had it for 4 years and in that time I installed
a 401, 4-speed out of a total AMX, in it. Added
headers and a Toker intake, and let me tell you, that
car was a hell of alot faster than my GTO, hands down.
I sold it because a tried my hand at the local dirt
tracks. It would have been little hard to tow a stock
car with a Gremlin, so I sold it and got a truck.
Let me tell you first hand, if you want to throw away
money, go stock car racing.
So now I?m looking for another 72 Gremlin ?X? so I can
relive my younger days, and prove to my friends, just
how fast that car.
Best of luck on all of your projects
Ed
