Depends on how much you want to spend. On the cheap you could throw in an amc 360 with a 904 tranny.
If you have no$ limit then a built 401 with a TF 727 or T-10 P 4spd and a ford 9" rear.
Either way you will need a v-8 engine cross member and notor mount plates.

The other day I was driving around in my 70 gremlin and spotted a 71 gremlin. I chatted with the fella that owns it and he is thinking of selling it. It needs alot of work to restore to original and I was thinking of buying it and making a hot rod out of it.
My question is this.....
To keep it street legal, but very fast..........
What motor could I put it?
What tranny is best?
Rear end?
Suspension?
etc..
