Re: Las Vegas Weather

Speaking of heat, Paige and me went to Las Vegas several years ago, end of
July, and all the handrails at casinos were covered up with that foam crap
you use to cover pipes. The reason why is if you touch it during the day,
you hand will stick to it, pulling off flesh.

We went to several casinos, and came out at 3:30am, and it was 104 degrees
at 3:30am. Later that day we went to Hoover Dam, a must see for anyone
travelling to Vegas, and it was 132 degrees there. Dry heat me ass as
someone said, your eyes water, throat feels like someone poured sand in it,
I have NEVER seen 132 degrees, much less 10% humidity as it is constantly
over 70% humidity in Houston year round! Skin cracks, nose, eyes, throat
hurts, it was like being on the surface of Venus.

Oh, and our brand new rental car battery kept dying due to it being over 3
billion degrees under the hood. But it was not only us, the hotel we stayed
at actually had a few golf carts with rows of batteries and cables, going
from car to car in their level parking garage jumping people for free as a
courtesy who needed it throughout the day.

AMC content: At the corner of Tropicana and (?) near Harrah's there was a
1970 Rebel two door, solid as a rock, complete, good condition, but the 304
was wasted, the gas station owner told me he 'had been trying to sell it for
months for $400 and was fixing to tow it to salvage' but I told him let me
spread the word quickly for him, which I did on the internet and phone once
I got back to Houston. Hell, the windshield and one fender is worth the
$400. There was also two SX/4 Eagles we spotted, and I stopped to look at a
sweet 69 Ambassador dPL 2dr, 343 Typhoon, AT, loaded in Hialeah Yellow, off
the strip for sale for $1400, that car was amazingly clean.

And in the for what it is worth department, only one AMC in the Imperial
Palace Collection, a Metropolitian, and Jackie Kennedy's Lincoln Continental
was there, and the original dealership window sticker proudly boasted the
dealership was a AMC, Food, Jeep Dealership, complee with r/w/b AMC logo and
Ford logo.
