All the wiring harness and conecters are the same to conect and they looked identical, but the guages wont work unless I have the running lights on..I dont know how to fix that. Do you have any ideas? I want to get that huge bumper off the rear and put a slim one like the one on the 72, but the trouble is finding one close that I can afford to pick up. Also puting the aluminum trim around where the gas cap should be.. I might just wait and find another 72 body.hahaha, thats a good one. Ive been looking for one  of those for almost three years now. Let me know if you know how to fix my dash dilema or if there is a book or something. I handle all the mechanics myself, I mean Ive done it myself untill now , and how much harder can these cars get, right? Well, Ill talk at ya latr

If they then work properly you know that was the problem. If they still don't work then you have a wireing problem somewhere. Now that I have totally confused you and myself i'll just shut up.

It initially took me 5 hours to take out the first dash, then only took me 1 hour to put it in after I knew where it all hooked up. That was more than 2 years ago,its like riding a bike, right? Thanks, ill give that a try in a few months..thanks ,  linda

The inst. panel comes out with 5 screws, you don't have to remove the whole dash. The hardest part is reaching up under the dash with the package tray removed to disconect the speedo cable. The gauge panel should just pop out and then disconect the wireing plugs and it is in your hand, 15 min. tops. 4 screws to remove to swap the gauge cluster and re-install. I know all this from experience as I rebuilt the dash in my other Hornet 3-4 years ago and am building a complete new one from used parts for the new Hornet right now.

I havent looked at it yet, but I am not sure how hard the guages themselves are to remove. The color on the other cluster doesnt match, so I will have to remove all the guages individually and reinstall them into the other panel. With the plastic being so old, I just hope I dont screw anything up swapping them out..Thanks for the info..catch ya later,Linda
