Insane Shipping Costs

I have been looking for a pass side mirror for my new Hornet for 3 months now. I just posted last week on the AMX Files again for one. I got 2 replys this time. One was from a guy in Canada that had removed a set of mirrors off a 78 Concord the day before my post. He wanted 24$ plus shipping for the pair and sent me pic's of them and they are the same style as the one on the car. The other guy is in California and wanted 25$ for the pass side mirror. I figured I'd buy the set from the guy in Canada and the pass one from the guy in California so I would end up with a spare set. I sent both of them my snail mail addy so they could figure shipping. The 2 mirrors from Canada was 12.75$ for shipping, the 1 mirror from California was 19.14$ for shipping. Is there somthng wrong here? Naturally I am buying the set from the guy in Canada. The one mirror from California would end up costing 44.14$ versus 36.75$ for the 2 from Canada. I'll use that 44$ to buy a new battery for my yellow Hornet this week since the one in the car crapped out last saturday.
