I can't really remember since it was 20+years ago but I don't think it was very noticeable at all. I think the shoulder belt was just sewed on to the lap portion and when you cut it the shoulder portion just went back into the retractable part in the door and you couldn't tell that these ever was a shoulder belt on the lap belt. I could be all wrong. If I had my Gremie was here I would go out and look I would remember what I did I think but Gremie has been taken over to my other house where he has been covered up and put in the garage for the winter.
