Well folks, here are some of the long awaited pics you've been craving. I created a new folder, so come and have a peek. I still have a bit to do before I can drive her. Finish front disc conversion, bleed brakes, hook up alternator & oil pressure gauge, hang exhaust, add coolant I went thru a friggin nightmare to get the front brakes done... I decided to just put the front drums on so I could at least get the beast on the road.. OK, I need brake cylinders.. no problem.. phone up the local PartSource and tell them ExACTLY what I need.. no problem. we have them in stock.. go down there to pick them up and find out they are not the 1 3/16th " bore (for V8s) but the 7/8" bore for 6cyls... ok.. how much to get for V8? Uh.. $50 Me: Did you say $50? Each? Them: Yep, but I don't have any in western Canada.. They are special order... Me: I'm not spending that much, you've got to be kidding.. I go home and phone a few more places.. nobody has stock, highest price was $85 ea!!! For friggin Brake Cylinders!!?? Apparently Wagner and other manufacturers no longer put them on the short line.. therefore, special order. If you guys have to do front brakes, do them soon or find a cheap donor. I was raving, as you can imagine.. OK, time to look into the price of disc conversion (which I wanted to do anyway). Amazingly, PartSource had calipers in stock (took in some old sh!t cores) and managed to get new brake shoes, and even a like-new Rotor off Bryan Morrow.. need one more rotor (Surprise, nobody has stock, up to a week delivery) PS: Matador rotors will work, if you need to know the year etc, I'll just ask Bryan cuz that's what he gave me and it fits like a glove. Thicker webbing etc... Nice rotors So.. I'm still toying with putting on "General Lee" stickers.. what do you all think? PS: My friend works for a vinyl striping place and I can get stripe kits (even custom ones) for any car for the COST OF THE VINYL, heheh, lucky me, eh?
