Hey Bart,
Yes, the car was originally a 304cid Grem. It had those stupid "LOG"
exhaust manifolds (I'm assuming) which clear everything. I've got
the "Free Flow"s on it which hang further out from the block. Some
day I might go back to headers, but that would require an engine
lift.. which I don't have. Yesterday, I ground the flange and put
the manifold back on. They fit, AND I was able to finally bolt up
the tranny mount (it lines up perfectly now). Don't worry Bart, I'm
not gonna do the Hemi thing and I'm not shelving the 360. Hemi's are
hard to find (I don't have one) and expensive to rebuild.
HemmiGremmie found out they won't fit either, so its a no go, unless
it goes into a bigger car..
NOW I can get my driveshaft cut, finish my disc conversion, hook up
the fuel line and plug wires, finalize the alternator wires, install
chrome rear diff cover, add fluids and START THE BITCH UP! YAY!
I've got a confession to make.. I bought an '84 Capri... I'm not
keen on those cars, but it was a deal I couldn't pass up. It was mom-
in-laws car, well taken care of (almost everything in the engine
compartment has been replaced/rebuilt). Interior is great and body is
good. Tranny was rebuilt 2 years ago, good rubber, rad flush, etc
etc etc.. V6 3.8L engine constantly overheats, apparently I need to
plane the heads and install new head gaskets and water pump gasket.
Then it should be ready for sale.
The money will go into the Grem.. oh yeah, I only paid $500 for it..
