Re: [AMC-list] AMC V8 distributor gear

Joe, the MOPAR part is most likely a repackaged Crown part. The best advice so far is to use a matched set distributor/cam gear in the V-8s. Everyone has had bad luck just using new gears. If the translation from English to metric measurements is just a few hundred thousandths off it seems to effect gear life. All the new gears are made in China, and the conversion to metric is the most likely cause of problems. I'd get a set from www.bulltear.com. Jeep guys, and they check everything.

Easy question. I've heard over the years about some bad distributor gears that were manufactured a few years back. What about the Mopar # J3208615? Anyone shed any light as to if this is a good quality gear? Thanks alot, Joe
