I know you had mentioned using ball joint spacers at one point. If this is just "going up" why don't you use spacer/riser blocks between the spindle and kingpin/upright of the stock Spirit? You can use a thickness to get the wheel spacing matched to your rear setup and get the lift you need without doing a lot of work that will need undone should you decide to do the full 4wd later. Plus you can either use your Spirit stuff or, sell it and do the XJ mod. I have 1/2" thick plates a user on the old AMC forum had cut. They use the Spirit/Concord Caliper from 82-83 and a 12" rotor from a crown vic redrilled or I have since learned they "should" work with an 02 Explorer 2wd rotor that does not need redrilled and is already 5 X 4 1/2" and 12" +/-. ----- Original Message -----
