Re: [AMC-list] 70 Donohue 390 4 speed For sale- Mine

yeah what he says
Most of the docs don't get the whole pict ure .
I had a very top of the line orthopedic surgeon do my shoulder.
Even after surgery an recovery I felt like I was somehow special. (not in a good way)
No one ever took the time to explain the experience of pain for one
person compared to another. Nor did they tell me the recovery time.
It's right there with all the other scary stuff.

I purposely did not search info on partial shoulder replacements till
I was home with an ice water bath on my shoulder and I was bored

I asked questions, TONs of pain meds and it did indeed take 2 years
to get close to being "normal". If I did not have bipolar type II depression.
and Complex regional pain syndrome things would be "SWELL"....
Looking in the rear view mirror I only see one thing I would have done
different, not taking that bike ride....

The surgeries I do not think anyone could forsee any of this we all recover differently

they may not know! specialists are so specialized...

example: my uncle, who's a doctor and spent his career assisting a
prominent surgeon, in retirement needed an operation he was familiar
with from his working days.

he had *no*idea* that patients needed physical therapy afterward,
until he went through the procedure. he thought all his patients
*just*got*better*. but then, once they left the or, they weren't his
problem anymore...

moral: doctors don't know everything. if you need surgery, do your
own research. become your own expert.
