they may not know!  specialists are so specialized...

example: my uncle, who's a doctor and spent his career assisting a
prominent surgeon, in retirement needed an operation he was familiar
with from his working days.

he had *no*idea* that patients needed physical therapy afterward,
until he went through the procedure.  he thought all his patients
*just*got*better*.  but then, once they left the or, they weren't his
problem anymore...

moral: doctors don't know everything.  if you need surgery, do your
own research.  become your own expert.
