This is a bad idea in MHO. First it isnt cost effective when a new cover can be 
had for 230.00. 2nd the sleeve will float in the aluminum unless you use an 
aluminum sleeve that has the same expansion coeffecient as the cover. I have 
heard of nickle plaiting but I wouldn t trust that either. Course this is just 
my personal opinion yours will differ and you can use whatever you want. I like 
to use OEM used covers that I know work and I have thouroughly inspected. Too 
many issues with new crown covers causing havock in many engines.

IIRC, it's possible to have the bore for the oil pump either sleeved or hard 
plated with nickel to restore the clearances and make the pump function 
properly. Wish I knew who did the sleeve work as that sounds like the way to go.
Anybody know which sleeve blank would be used?
